Speedway has taken place at 2 venues in the Hoddesdon area of Rye House since 1934, The first venue was Hoddesdon Stadium when a meeting took place on 27th May 1934. The team operated on the Open circuit and eventually competed in the Southern League. The final race at this venue was on 22nd September 1957 when the home side were victorious against Rayleigh. The team moved just down the road to their new home at Rye House Stadium in 1958. The initial meeting took place on 3rd August and they have been here ever since. They finally made the Premier League in 2002. | |||||

Greyhound racing was first staged at the Hoddesdon Stadium in 1935 and eventually moved to the Rye House Stadium once the old track closed in 1957. | |||||
The team has won the Knockout Cup just once in 1979, but were League Champions in 1954, 1955, 1956, 1980 and 2005. Throughout their time the team have been known as the Cubs, the Roosters, the Red Devils and the Rockets. The Rye House Rockets contest the SGB Premiership. Recent successes include the Premier League Trophy in 2005 and Premier League Champions in 2005 and 2007. | |||||
